Suzuki lt80 hard to start
#1
I recently bought a Suzuki lt80 and was told if had electrical problems, so I got that fixed and bought a new carburetor, and when I try to start with a battery it will just turn over but will not fire, so I tried jumping with a vehicle and it started no problem and was riding around great , but I don't want to jump start it every time. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem or can help me

So...did the motor turn faster with the car battery vs. the atv battery? I'm guessing it did, which may suggest you need a new atv battery or your starter is drawing more amps than it should (car battery has way more CCA than the little atv battery)...just a thought...

Just replace...they are relatively inexpensive...I'll suggest doing the "footrest" mod while in there...just tip the machine on it's ***...cut the footrest bar that passes right next to the starter and fab up a simple connector...will make future work easier...will also allow easier access to the starter...

Well I was told the starter was replaced before I bought it, and it looks new but I also have 2 other starters that came with it. And I can get to the starter easily, this atv is just another fixer upper I have bought so trying to spend the least amount of money being I'm only 15 and don't have a job yet lol

Below 90 is not good...make sure you hold the throttle open when you crank...
You may want to feel the vacuum as well...put your hand over the carb air intake and crank the motor...you should feel a strong tug...if not then you may have bad crank seals...the tug pulls the fuel/air mixture into the motor...
Hard starting is generally a not enough fuel issue...generally...
