Do you guys know of any good after market companies for a complete plastic set for a 87 LT 500? A set from Suzuki cost $592. A bit much if you ask me. I heard mix reviews form Meyers.

Maier plastic looks like crap, and that's not a mixed review. I have some and am EXTREMELY disappointed. They have made the front a two-piece design that you have to bolt together with these unsightly plastic bolts that make it really look cheap. It has a dull industrial finish like a rubber-maid trash can. No bolt holes whatsoever, you have to drill them yourself. I wish I had know this before I purchased some. Have you tried YSA, among the mail-order companies? I'd think that they would have some cheaper, but maybe not. I think my price on the Maier plastic was like $250.00, I would think you'd be happier and more satisfied with the factory stuff even if it did cost you $250.00 more. I know that I would.

Right on Slinger. I just bought the Maier back in January thinking how tricky I was saving money. What a bad move. None of the plastic will line up right and I had to do some trimming around the gas tank to get the hood to attach to the front fenders. Slinger had it right when he said the plastic looks like industrial stuff. There is no sheen. Not only that, but the blue hood does not match the blue Suzuki seat. I can send you a picture of me at the dunes a couple weekends ago with the Maier and you will see what I mean about the color difference. Call YSA.

THE BOYS DON'T LIE HERE THAT'S FOR SURE. THE ONLY WAY TO FLY IS FACTORY IF YOU WANT A HASSLE FREE INSTALL, AND GLOSS LOOK. I RUN THE MAIER FRONT BECAUSE MY RIDE IS PURPLE AND YELLOW (NO BLUE AT ALL ANYWHERE)AND IT LOOK PRETTY GOOD. I HAVE A CUSTOM PAINTED FACTROY NOSE BUT I ONLY USE IT FOR SHOWS. THE PLACE TO CALL FOR PLASTIC IS NATIONAL PARTS DEPOT THEIR NUMBER IS 1-888-780-8544. ASK FOR SHAWN (HE MIGHT BE OUT SINCE HE GOT HURT RACING 2 WEEKS AGO) TELL HIM PENNZILLA (RON) FROM THE QUADZILLATHON SITE TOLD YOU TO CALL. THEY SHOULD HOOK YOU UP WITH A SET FOR UNDER 500 BUCKS AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO HAGGLE PRICE WITH THEM. WHEN YOU ARE DEALING WITH THAT KIND OF STUFF ANY PLACE HAS ROOM FOR A DISCOUNT. THEY ARE ONE OF THE QUADZILLATHON SPONSORS (EVEN THOUGH THEY AREN'T LISTED YET BECAUSE WE ARE SETTING UP A SITE FOR THEM) AND THAT IS WHERE I GET ALMOST ALL MY FACTORY STUFF. THE COOL THING WITH THEM IS ONCE YOU GET A FEW ORDERS IN YOU CAN WORK WITH THEM TO GET BIGGER DISCOUNTS, AND THEY HANDLE SUZUKI, AND YAMAHA SO GET YOU BUDDIES TOGETHER AND THE BIGGER ORDER MEANS BIGGER DISCOUNT. YSA IS A GREAT PLACE TO AND THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF I JUST GET BETTER PRICES FROM THE DEPOT. CALL AROUND AND GET PRICES AND I BET THEY CAN BEAT YOUR BEST PRICE.
