Default Trying to identify old suzuki Engine

Im looking at buying a motor i found locally but from what the seller is saying doesnt match up with anything else im finding when researching. The ad states its a 1986 Suzuki Quadrunner 250 four stroke. but they didnt have a 250 four stroke at that time period. Im still awaiting further info on gearing from the seller but i figure i would ask the experts here. The seller, from what ive picked up in conversation, had a quad that he took this from several years ago and the atv is now gone. he is certain on the fact that is it a four stroke motor, which it does look like. but everything else is not matching up. Below are a few pictures, I have a serial number from the motor but im unsure what site to use to locate more info (K401-105199). The stamping on the cylinder states 293 cubic centimeters, so im guessing its a 300cc motor.

at first i thought it could be just LT230 or a 1989 LT "250" (230 with the bigger cylinder) but now im lost. I'm really hoping someone here can help me out. Im mainly trying to lookup what the clutch type is, the hp amount and number of gears / if it has reverse, shaft drive or sprocket(i think its sprocket but not 100% sure, plus ill also have to get a few parts if i do end up getting it.

1986 LT230 . They def had 4 strokes then. Altho your motor must be newer (because it is 300cc).

According to Babitts there was a 300 out in 1987 so if the owner was vague about capacity, they probably have the year wrong too. If you can find some pictures of a circa 1987 LT300 Quadrunner and match them to the engine in your pictures, you should get some answers. The engine number may mean something to Suzuki dealers K is often used as a year code, but it shouldn't matter much.
