My friend down the road has a 86 suzuki 230 quad sport and would sell it to me for 500 bucks. It needs a new left main case where the timing chain is and a new air box. I was just wondering how much would the case cost and should i get this?

if your talking about the stator plate cover which is the engine cover on the shifter side, it will cost you right at 100 bucks. i jst replaced mine and for the cover, gasket and shifter seal it was 105. 230's are known for breaking this cover, the chain comes off and hits the cover usually because of bad swing arm bearings or axle bearings. i would check these two things out and repair that problem before i put a new cover on or it will do it again.
