Default Need Help 2006 Suzuki Elgier 400

My son took our ATV out and was playing in some mud lakes. He drove through 4 or 5 times ( Water up to the floor boards ) on the last pass the bike just quit moving. Engine runs, revs up in gear but nothing moves in any gear, high or low 2 wheel, or 4 wheel, or reverse. It can does move by hand , but not by itself . Like I said the motor starts right up and runs beautifully. Could the Drive Belt have broke?

Default Thank you

Will be able to diagnose better today after I get it off the Trailer. I'll see if the drive shift turns ( Meaning rear end Problem ) or if the belt needs replacing . Thanks for your input.

He may have gotten water in the belt case. See if there is a drain plug for it or remove case cover and dry it out. The ATV will not move if there is water in there, done it myself.

After getting the Atv off the trailer today, I started it up and noticed it seamed to want to move just felt like the Auto Clutch was slipping. I opened the side cover, belt looked good, only a little water seepage. So checked the Clutch Adjustment, loosened both nuts turned the larger screw Counter clockwise until fully open, the tightened the smaller nut, turned the larger screw clockwise 1/16 to 1/8 th of a turn, locked down the nut ,and now runs like a champ again,( I just bought it used so apparently they didn't have the Clutch set up right ) Thanks everyone for your help and Advise , it got me started looking at other things than just the belt!

If it has a clutch adjuster it is a manual, not an auto and won't have a belt. Manual Eigers are rather prone to clutch slip, Eigers and 400KQs are the only bikes on which I always adjust the clutch when doing a service.

Ok I thought that since there is no clutch use during Shifting that it was the Semi Auto , It has 1 reverse, 5 forward ( Which you just shift as you need for speed etc ) I'll have to look as to why the Clutch handle is not hooked up ( It's there just doesn't appear to do anything, ) I'll have to do a little more investigation and find a Shop Service Manual . Thank you

If it's a manual shift then there is no clutch handle. That handle will be a brake handle.
