Hey,
Does anyone know how to change the spring in the hand gear shifter tube located under the detent plastic rod? My spring is worn and no longer stops it from getting knocked out of hi/lo.

 

Fairly sure all that does is stop you changing into reverse by mistake. It is the big spring above the shaft that goes into the gearbox which holds the lever where you put it. Item 3 on this drawing https://www.suzukipartshouse.com/oem...ing-2-model-k3 the big headed bolt can be seen sticking out of the alternator/gear case.

yeah I want the spring working so the hand shifter so it stays in gear, as it slips into low from high occasionally if bumped while on the trails.
not sure if the pin is threaded in or pressed in (or needs to be drilled out for a new spring.
