Default 1987 LT4WD Reverse Light

hello, i picked up a 87 lt4wd back in november and have replaced a cv boot and put on fresh tires and changed engine oil, oil filter, spark plug, air fiter, diff fluid because it had 185 miles and original owner never changed the oil. Anyways , its a pretty great looking quad, and the worst part about the unit is the fact that the reverse indicator light does not come on when in reverse, the nuetral light works as it should. I have been in the dash area to replace speedo cable. has anyone had this issue? how do i go about fixing it and what parts may i need ?
thanks in advance, bob

Don't know that model at all but later Suzukis have a switch that earths out in that gear so, ignition on, pos is fed to both bulbs and the switch earths one wire when in reverse and another in neutral. Some bikes have a single rotary switch for this, some, two separate switches. If you can find the switch and remove and earth the wire, ign on the bulb should light. If it doesn't, you have a wiring problem. Eigers have the rotary switch buried deep in the engine, so you can only earth the correct wire at the connector outside the engine, some, like Honda 300s, have two switches sticking out of the case, with bullet connectors on them.
