King Quad- How big for tires?

I have 26-12-12 's on the rear of mine.. I wouldn't try anything bigger.. myself.. It doesn't have enough power. I have to put it in super low sometimes, if its in a lot of muck, and trying to climb at the same time... If you're just going to ride it on trails, you may get by with the big 27's..

I would'nt even think of going to 27s on the rear of your KQ,the engine cant handle the added strain it takes to turn them.My brother has 24-9-11 in the front and 25-12-12 in the rears. He kept stock size rims and has no noticable power loss.He is running Vampires. The newer tires are really excellant in the mud/snow to,

Diff front sized front rims???? Good luck, I went down that road about 2 months ago with no results. I went stock tire size vamps and there was a power loss. Although I do love these tires and I dont know what took me so long to get them. Btw I bought the tires and wheels from Jim @ National Tire and Wheel. Let me know if you need his #. One more foot note, from what i understand the new 589's come in the kings wheel size (finally). I would even consider getting thoughs tires. Rob

DdieselPro, does that mean you have a working knowledge of diesels?
Anyway, I have a friend that has a '96 KQ, and he still runs the stock Dunlop's. His choice is, use 'em 'til they're gone. He can do just about anything others can do. I have a whole set of Dunlop's with wheels in my garage from my KQ '99. But I like the Titan's and Douglas Wheels that are on it now. Didn't change sizes (diameters) for fear of problems later. I've read where some guys have tried larger tires and wheels. End up with CV and U-joint mishaps. Your choice...

Anyone try the Dirt Devils from Rocky Mountain Catalog yet on page 74.They cost under 45 dollars each and appear to have a good tread pattern for agressive mudding, the only downfall is it looks like you cant get the deep lug of 1-1/8 XTs for your stock rims. They do have the 5/8 lug though and the price cant be beat. They will fit your stock rims.Good Luck,
