I know that the Suzuki engines are what power the Arctic Cats. But i was reading a review in Jan. 2001 4-wheel ATV Action about the the Quad Runner and it got me thinking. The review said: "If you have spent time on other big bores, the QR's motor will not impress you with its strength. It does not have nearly the pull of other machines in its class, but it certainly has the torque to far exceed its towing and hauling ratings." The review also mentioned that it was the same engine as the AC. Yet the AC is always boasting such power and grunt all the time. And even in other shootouts with the AC they always seem to commend the AC on being so powerful. So i was wondering if Suzuki and AC tune the engines differently to produce different power bands or if the engines are the EXACT same and the Suzuki 500 and AC 500 are infact equal in their power capabilities? Or if different testers are having different opinions about the same engine?
Does anyone know anything about this?

As far as I know the motors are the same. I have a 1998 Suzuki 500 Quadrunner and the power is so awesome. My friend was shifting down to get my power when we were driving up a steep hill and I was shifting up to get more speed, I passed him like he was standing still. He had a 1994 Suzuki 300 King Quad. So I would say the power is just plain awesome. I love it. With the stock tires in 5th gear going about 50-60 km/h I could give it full throttle and the back end would try and kick out, now that is power !!!! And this is a full time 4x4 quad, imagine if it was 2x4 !!!! I just love it.

I was looking at my old posts and this was my first post I think. What I really want to see is the first post ever on these forums.

hmm the very first post.. well i think this magazine started in 98.. or maybe 97. I used to come to the site for quite a while. way before i even knew about the forums, and even when i did, i didn't sign up for a while. This online mag. used to have new stuff up almost everyday. and they used to have reviews and all kinds of neat things. Now weeks can go by and there are no updates. It is a good thing i started using the forum because if not there would be no reason to even come here.

WEll looky there i started rambling on again.. i tend to do that...

Yah I came here when I was back in high school. I would check everyday for updates. I read the forums a long time ago too, I signed up but never posted anything then I forgot my password and resigned up and that was my first post(the one above that is.)

How old are you Newf? I'm 22.
