Hey all, anyone ever try one of those tapered axle bearings kits? I had cut apart one of the old bearings with oxy-acet torches. Arent Zillas double roller bearing? I only found 1 bearings on each side, with 2 seals. I'd like to do it up right, and was wondering if those tapered kits last any longer, (I'm sure their easy to grease and change!) Thanks. -Mike

"Zillas only have a single set as far as I know. That's what I've got on mine and thats what the shop manual shows as well. I just replaced mine a year ago, but I didn't know that there were double-taper kits for them. That would be cool if you could get a set-up like the 250Rs have. They'd last a lot longer, too.

Ya, you can get them. I've heard that the dual row bearing carriers are actually better than the tapered bearing carriers because if you tighten your axle nuts to tight it will very quickly destroy your tapered bearings. Maybe if you got the tapered bearing carrier and the aftermarket axle nut setup you would be ok. I'd just go with the dual row carrier though. That's what all my friends run in their 250R race quads. It's a good set up. Just a thought. Check out shoc connection or nac's. Good luck.
