I own a 85 LT250R Quadracer. I need to replace the front fenders and was going to get some Maier plastic for the front. I was wondering will my stock hood work on Maier plastic or do I have to get a hood from Maier too?

Yes the stock hood will work with the Maier plastic. DO NOT get the Maier hood it is the nastiest thing you can do to your LT! Even if you break the OEM one spend a little more and replace it.

thats right maier hoods suck! maier everything sucks actually. your maier fronts aren't gonna match your rears by the way. the colors will be much different.

Thanks for all the info. I kinda figured that the plastic wouldn't match but my other fenders are toast and I need them now....will get the rear a little later down the road. Thanks again!

Yeah the OEM hood does look a hell of alot better, i don't like the maier plastic as well it feels real flimsy and i donn't like the finish of the paint jobs on them !

DO NOT buy any Maier crap, please. You will absolutely hate yourself for it. I wish I had asked this forum about Maier's junk before I bought it for my Quadzilla. It not only is a different color, but the texture is ultra-crappy, too. It has a dull finish with no gel-coat. The stockers fit together nicely with very little of a seam. The Maier front and rear don't come close to meeting up right and I have often cut my leg on this crap. The factory plastic costs more but it is worth it. Well worth it. Oh yeah, my hood just rattles around on the top of the Maier stuff.

Im looking to change my plastics on my zilla. I wanted either black front and back plastics with a red hood or silver front and back with a red hood. So what do u guys recommend? Ive heard so often thart maier are crap. Can you get factory plastics in these colours? Do UFO or any other brand make these plastics?
