i have a 1989 lt250r or at least i think so,all the parts i bought
and i just rebuilt are for a 89 and fit fine, but i bought a rad valve
and it doesn't fit or match up to the bolt pattern, and this is my second one and i'm getting pissed, the bolt pattern for the one they
keep sending me is two on top,two on bottom and one on each side, and the one i need should go:three on top,two on bottom, any help would be useful

Right. firstly have you checked the engine number. Many people check the chassis number to find the year of the bike but dont give two seconds of thought that the bike could have a different engine. People are doing engine swaps all the time. Go out to your shed, write down the engine and chassis number (which you shoulda already done for insurance!) and call your nearest Suzi dealer. They can tell you the year of the chassis and the engine. As for the inlet, i do know that Suzuki made changes on the bolt pattern over the years. Hope this helps dude

Well my friend I'm afraid your '89 LT250R is really an '87 LT250R. At least the jug is. They changed the reed cage in 1988. The one that you are discribing is off the '87 model. So if you order the one for the '87 you should be all set. If you want another opinion I would go with a Paul Turner Pyramid valve over a Rad valve any day. They are way better. But that's up to you.

They don't make a Rad valve, Ram valve, or Delta reeds for an 87, I have a 92 that someone put an 87 cylinder on. You really don't need a different reed cage on the 87 anyway they are huge compared to the 88-92, tons more reed area. I would suggest going with Carbon Tech reeds though, I have tried Boysen and I found Carbon Tech to feel the same a low RPM's but much better on top. Take a look at the web site for (FTX performace) the best racing cylinder they sell for the Quadracer it the 87 due to the large reed area.
