could i get a little info on the suzuki lt 500 like when it was made and when it wuz last made and why.

 

Suzuki LT500R is the fastest production quad yet made. It was built from 1987-1990, a production unit of only four model years. Its demise, as well as that of all the Rs, is directly attributed to the amount of litigation that was piled upon it due to its alleged dangerousness. In short, stupid people were getting hurt or killed on them.

It is a 2-stroke. The bikes that you are referring to are probably not stock. The Quadzilla is undeniably the fastest stock bike ever.

In stock form it was supposed to operate in the mid to high 70s range. I've heard of anywhere from 70-80 and even some ridiculous claims of 120m.p.h. Mine wasn't a stocker when I got it and it would run in the mid seventies easily beating anything I raced. I have since added more go fast goodies in an attempt to reach triple digits or as close to 100 as I can get. I'm in the middle of a total rebuild right now so I'll know in about 2-3 weeks what she'll do. If I am brave enough.

 

A banshee does around 72 stock from what i hear and i believe it my brothers is fast as hell. Yamaha must make a lot more aftermarkets for the banshee than Suzuki makes for the 500 because in dirt wheels magazine a banshee did 101 at the drag race in an 1\8 of a mile.
