Usually when a water pump leaks from the weep hole its because the bearings are failing and allowing water to pass through them. I imagine you could change the bearings provided the shaft is still in good shape but it is probably more cost effective to order a new water pump for it. Hope this helps, Aaron.

The weep hole was put there as a warning of an impending problem. At this point you need only change the seal immediately behind the impeller (mechanical seal). There is another seal behind this mechanical seal, it's called an oil seal and if this one goes, you'll get oil in the coolant and vice versa!!! Both seals have to fail for the fluids to mix..but for now, you're lucky, all you need is the mechanical seal.
Hope this helps

You'll be way ahead to replace everything having to do with the water pump and seal. I just bought the mechanical seal, the impeller, the water pump shaft, and the oil seal from Midwest Action Cycle. I couldn't afford another leak. The last one I had cost me some bearings new clutches and oil seals. Also a lot of rust had formed on the inside of my case and that ain't good. The whole thing cost about $55.00 I think.

Damn wish i hada known this before i bought mine. The guy that sold it too me even told me that the water pump had a leak but just to watch it and keep filling the radiator...the next thing was the bike overheated, spat the top radiator hose out and the contents of the radiator all over the dirt. not happy on my second ride... thats where these forums are so valuable
