I have an 86 LT 230, I have the rear caliper off of the thing ( I was replacing the swing arm) and I can't get the piston compressed far enough back into the cylinder to get new pads on it. I spoke with a friend that works on bikes and he said that it probably needs to be rebuilt, at around $100.00 bucks. Is there anybody that knows where I can find a used, functioning one out there any cheaper?

Have you checked Ebay? I think there is a guy parting out a 230.

 

I believe the calipers on the 230 quadsport are the same as the 85 - 86 quadracer. Plenty of those on EBAY
