I just got an 86' Quadracer 250. It really rips and the only problem is that the back fenders are trashed. By the way, what exactaly does an Answer Roost Boost do? I was looking at the front and it has one zip tied to the frame. thanks boys

Well I think all the Quadracers had the Answer Roost Boost things on them. I don't think they do anything, though; I unplugged mine and didn't notice any difference. Also I haven't noticed anything about them in my manual.

I'm pretty sure they werent factory equipment but who knows? I have know idea what their roost boost is but a typical boost bottle is used to help keep pressure more even.

A Roost Boost and a Boost bottle are two totally different things. The Answer Roost Boost is an aftermarket item that apparently isn't sold anymore. I haven't seen them advertised for over five years. They were supposed to increase the output of the power provided to the sparkplug. Apparently, they didn't better the performance of the machine by a noticeable amount or they would still be around. If you ever have an ignition related problem, bypassing this aftermarket device would be the first course of action.

Could that thing be the reason why my headlight doesn't work?

I doubt it would affect how your headlight worked. You could use a multimeter to check and make sure voltage is making it first to the on/off switch, after the switch, before and after the high/low switch and finally to the light itself. You would want to do this in the reverse order probably to trouble shoot exactly what part was causing the problem, probably just a burnt bulb though. Depending on how the thing was wired in the previous owner could have spliced it in improperly (assuming thats how its done?) which is now causing the problem. Try checking to make sure your getting power to the light first, that will tell you what to look for as the problem. Good luck, Aaron.
