It depends on the style you are looking for, both Rental and Tag make a couple different designs. I myself run a pair of Renthal (CR bend) I like em. I've never tried Tags, but I hear they are very good bars and since I've never used them I couldn't tell you how they would fair in a crash/rollover, I do know that I have seen Renthals get bent in a crash. I don't think any bar is impervious to crashes. I have an old HPI bar (carbon steel) that went through a pretty good crash and it's still straight. I just like the Renthals becuase they are lighter and they don't transfer the vibration as much to the hands.

I too have a set of renthals on my 500. i got the (cough cough) banshee bend. Now when rotated forward they make your arms sit in the attack position for riding. A definate plus for me as i was always gettin lazy and sagging my elbows down. To be honest, you shouldnt buy bars that are best when in a crash. simply get the bars that will suit your riding and height etc, that way if they suit you best, you'll have more control and thus hopefully will reduce the chances of a crash in the first place. Just my 2 cents. Both are excellent bars anyhow.

I bought my bars from Rocky Mtn ATV catalog, (phoned in the order) they were only $60. For the $89. you could buy a set of the Tag 2 or Pro tapers.

I still run the stock bars with a Motion-Pro twist. They still work good for me. The twist throttle was a must for me. I found that every little bump and hump I'd hit would cause my thumb to slip off the throttle, a BIG no-no when you're halfway to the top. Anybody else use the twist? I think it helps make the bike a lot easier to control.

I've used a twist throttle on mine since the day I purchased the monster, I don't think I could even go back to a thumb throttle on the Zilla. It's hard enough trying to get used to the thumb throttle on the 400EX when I ride it. If it wasn't for the G/F riding the 400 it would have seen the twist throttle change already.

I do know a lot of people who swear by the thumb throttle and would take it over the twist. It's just a matter of what your use to.

Here is a delema I have (small as it seems). I can't seem to find the right grips, I know some say grips are grips, but I find that there are some that are down right uncomfortable. I've been through a group of them in the last couple of years, I just can't seem to find the right ones. I've tried FMF 909s, Renthals, Scotts, and a few others I can't even remember the names, I am currently using a pair of Pro Grips (gel filled) there not bad, but I can tell that they are going to wear out faster. Any suggestions?

I use the Pro Grips as well. I did have Renthal, which are okay and then Oury, but the Oury grips didn't last long and got sticky crap all over my hands.
