Quadrunner 500 - Possible to make 2x4?
#1
A buddy of mine has a 2000 Quadrunner 500. We were looking at the 2001's and noticed that where the gear shift lever to go from 2WD to 4WD enters the front diff on the 2001, he has a removable plug there on his 2000. We took the plug out on his and it appears that there is some "excess" casting there that could be milled out and then rig a lever to make his selectable 2WD to 4WD. Does any one know if this is possible or are we biting at straws. Is the internals of the front diff the same on the 2000 and 2001?

I think, what needs to be done, is too drive the quad off a cliff and roll it on top of yourself. That should give the quad the desired look and feel.
(FYI, for those of you that wonder WTF I meant by that you would have to have been there when this occured. This buddy of ours is a menace! I think he has rolled 4 or 5 times in 2 years!)

Hey hey hey! I have NOT rolled it like 4 or 5 times. I have rolled it once. I have however rolled your Suzuki a couple times. So it is a total of 3 rolls... not "four or five".
If the moron who went up the hill first would have gave a bit of a warning as to the unavailibility to find ground on the left side of the trail on the downslope a bit sooner, I might have avoided going after him. But no... He lets out a big "Wha Hoo!". What's a guy to do but follow him and have that very same feeling.
In a few weeks time, I will be out on the dirt once more to try to find even more ways for my wife to be upset at me.
Oh, so who is going to show me how to do the breaks, and change the oil? Things must be done to ride again kiddie's.
