Is changing reeds a time thing or is it a performance thing. I have heard that when your quad is hard to start (it being a 2 stroke) that its time to change rings. Are there any tricks for reeds.

Well when my zilla was very hard to start I installed a set of boyesen power reeds and it fixed the problem but I would think it would depend how much you ride as to when you replace reeds.

 

First sign is hard starting. If compression is Ok, check the reeds, when they are old they sit off the reed block.
