I'm getting anti freeze dripping out of the little hole behind the water pump blades on the bottom. Does this mean the pump is bad? Also the blades turn freely. It doesn't feel like their hooked to anything. How does this setup work?? Thx

Leaking from the weep hole means the seal behind the impeller is probably bad. And no the impeller is bolted onto the end of the shaft WITH A LEFT HAND THREAD BOLT so it should not spin freely with the engine not running... Underneath the head of the bolt is a washer with a rubber seal also, it should be replaced also.

TO REPLACE THE SEALS ON THE WATER PUMP DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE WHOLE SIDE OFF THE ENGINE OR CAN YOU GET TO IT BY REMOVING THE PROP?

Once you remove the impeller no more disasembly is requred. Part of the seal is in the back of the impeller, the other half with the spring is in the case, it can be pried out carefully using a small screwdriver around the edge until it pops out. Then use a socket to drive in the new one. Becareful not to nick the faces on the new seals.
