awwww crud!

I took the head off my quad to show it to somebody, and they saw that the arrow on the top of the piston was pointed in the wrong direction, so I took the cylinder off and I notcied a little scoring along the exhaust port...
Now, I never ran the engine like this, but I did kick it over a little...
Now, I'm not sure, but the same guy told me that the ring gaps are all supposed to point towards the intake port..? I have them in the groove that Wiseco machined on there... That I'm pretty sure of...
And, as I took the cylinder off the bottom end the gasket at the bottom tore apart in some areas... I'm pretty sure this doesn't matter, but just in case?
help?
Also, I'm wondering if the pipe off the 87+ LT will work with my 1989 Suzuki RM250 engine... I know that they look quite a bit different. The RM engine has Case reed induction... and the powervalve looks a bit different... The cylinders have to be totally different, right?
Oh, and the RM pipe hits the LT frame... so... Now I need a pipe to get made, or the RM one to get modified...
YAY!
Oh well, it's worth it... I guess...
