Guys- I picked up a nice lt80 saturday for my boy. Replaces his worthless badger. Any way looking for a few low cost modds.

1. shocks off a kasea?
2. rejet and open up the air box?
3. any pipe modds?
4. paddle tires?
5. Wheel spacers?

Looking to get a little more power for the sand. Where we ride the hills are no more than 75 ft high. I like the quad how it is now just need a little more to be on the safe side. Please give your thoughts. Thanks, Mark

I put 2 1/2" wheel spacers up front on mine ($90). 18x9.5x8 turf tamers on rear. Also changed axle because I heard stock was weak when you widden it out. Trinity pipe and Works shocks on order. Supposibly, Kasea fronts will line up but rear has to have a bracket modification. I think the fronts were $90. Don't know about rear. I haven't done any airbox mods yet, waiting on pipe. Not much info but hope some will help, I'm setting his up for mx.

Look for lt80 that comes on here alot he has alot of time working on the lt80. I took his advice on simple mods to do and thay have made a diff. I did open the air box about 4x the size sounds better, removed the reed cage and made the two holes just alittle bigger, polished, installed boyeeson reeds,on the front clutch i removed two roller weights. Really takes off now i can tell a big diff. He(lt80)could explain the mods alot better. Hope this helps

Removing the rollers in the clutch? Whats that do for it? By removing just 2 of the 6 does it make the rollers off balance? 14mins, My boys have both the Badger and an older LT80. The only thing lacking on the Badger is the suspension Its pathetic. If Yamaha were smart they'd have made the Raptor 80 with independant front suspension. Otherwise its a good begginer quad.

Removing 2 of the rollers is fine, balance isn't an issue. I have reeds

Guys- thank you for the replies. I am ordering a manual wensday. Lookiing to remove 2 roller weights, install reeds, airbox and rejet. See where that takes it, and go further if needed. How much does changing the pipe improve the flow of power? My little boy is excited about the lt80. He has been on the badger for 4 years. Now i can take him to the sand with me.

changing the pipe will give it an annoying buzz, little if any speed.Go to the dunes,if it's not as fast as you would like it,contact me for a "major motor mod" If you insist on a pipe, the Dg or LRD's seem to work well

LT80- Thanks for the reply. I would rather spend the pipe money on wheels and tires.
