Overall they are not that bad of a quad. If you keep them maintained they will run good. But they are by no means a Honda. Regular maintence (change the oil and adjust the chain) is all it need between rebuilds. The power is decent. The handleing is ok. They are only 5-7mph slower than a 300ex. Hope this helps.

I don't think anything could be as unreliable as My 200SX Honda right now.It must have 10,000 miles on it because every other day something tears up on it!

a buddy of mine has a 230. it recently blew up though. the thing looks like a piece of crap! no plastic, no nothing on it except the necesities. we call it mad max. it runs strong though (when it ran). i beat it on my blaster easily. those things are fun little wheelie machines. too bad, its blown up now though, but the guys gonna drop a suzuki 750 4 cylinder in it! so that should be... interesting

I just sold my '86 LT230S quadsport....and I miss it. I have a 250 quadracer, and really enjoyed riding the 230 quadsport more. With a few aftermarket pieces, it was quick, reliable, and handled well....(wiseco piston, extended swing arm, GOOD bearings and bushings, decent tires)

I have a 230 Quadsport, and i think it is a fun and somewhat reliable wheeler. You just need to keep it maintaned and you should not have any problems with. They are fairly fast with decent power, they weelie really good. Overall they are really fun machines.

Just a word of warning. Keep the chain adjusted properly or you will be breaking magneto covers right and left. I broke three covers before I finally fixed it. At $80.00 a pop, it can be quite expensive.

A friend of mine has a 230 Quadsport and he has broken 2 covers due to poor chain adjustment. Other than that it runs great. Just keep that chain adjusted.

I had an 86 230 Quadsport. Best bike I ever owned. I have a 2000 Mojave now and it kinda feels like having the "old girlfriend" back. Of course the Mojave has alittle more power but just the overall handling brings back the memories!!!
