Why I put it on first then asked questions later I'll never know, but in the directions I got with the Hinson clutch basket it says, and I quote...."Do not use Kevlar clutch plates as they will cause excessive wear".....The Barnett "Dirt Digger" clutch kit just happens to include Kevlar plates and heavy duty springs, so what's up with that? Is it just because the kevlar grabs better and would push the outer tabs into the basket's fingers harder than a regular plate, or am I missing something here? I figure as long as I don't pop the clutch (much) it oughta last until the next time this weapon needs restoring.......Thanks a bunch.....Latah........

I think Hinson wants you to use the stock steel plates because it will wear their basket less than if you use the harder aftermarket steel plates. This is my opinion.

I can't believe it, almost a whole year ago..........But yeah, I've been running it like that since probably a week after that post, and not one sign of slippage yet, and I change the oil probably 3 times every 2 months from spring to fall when I ride it alot. And I have been dumping the clutch........a lot.........on pavement..........to light up the 21 inch Mudsharks........hey, I never said I was Smarternu
