Plastic
#1
is there anyway to repair cracked plastic, some dude at pep boys told me to use a fiberglass repair kit and some bondo and it will hold, does anyone know if that will work or somthing that does?
Also does anyone know of anything that will bring back the shine to my plastic? thanks .Later .

Pep Boys are a bunch of retards.
Fiberglass/bondo? No. Not in the case of my plastic, anyway...
I'd have to ask what kind of bonding-agent-like-thing the body shop here used on mine, but it's good. They tried everything, it fell apart and then they put this on and it's sweet.
But, a much better and easier way to fix the plastic is to simply weld it. Just hire a plastic welder and he'll fix it up good. On the gas filler area they welded my plastic and it looks like it would be good for some small cracks and stuff, but not anything crazy...

PLastic weld is the BEST way... If you don't have that option, I drill 1/4" holes along the crack, and use zip-ties to 'stitch' it together... It holds well, looks like hell, but at least it doesn't get any worse.
To make it shine?? Use mop-n-glo! Shines up real nice.... for a while
The Pep boy's are less than intelligent, fiberglass and/or bondo will not flex at the same rates as the plastic... Won't last as long as it took you to smear it on.
Just my $.02
