better Zilla low end?
#1
I know the Zilla is a racer and is meant for dunes, straight-aways and anything else requiring full throttle, but I live in PA and all we have are woods, hills and trees. It works pretty well in this environment (until the trails narrow), but I seem to always have problems with loose or sloppy inclines/hills. Kinda seems like there's no "crawl" or low-end to this thing. Either the wheels are spinning faster than the bike's forward momentum or they're stopped - no in between. I know you guys are going to ask me things like front sprocket tooth count and rear wheel size - I can find out. Just really looking for ideas and maybe things that you may have done. I know the rear tires are pretty low profile Maxxis Sur Tracs with possibly 11" wheels. Check the pics at the site in my sig...
Any of you riding woods and hills as opposed to the native Zilla niche - dunes?
Thanks.

If your ZILLA doesnt have enough low end for you there is either something wrong with it or you.
The zilla's has gobs of low end. My LT250 has enough low end for any rock crawling or hill climbing experience I have ever run into, and the Zilla would pull me in reverse all day long in a tug of war.

Is your powervalve working? Try slipping the clutch a little, too. I know on mine if I putty-chug too much it'll foul plugs, so I run a gear lower on trails than I normally would on another quad. Oh yeah, I got stock gears and 21X9X12 Mudsharks that grip pretty darn good, and throw a helluva rooster in the soft stuff.....
