no, it's not that big a deal, but I do gotta extract what's left of a bolt that holds the axle carrier in place tomorrow.

They were REALLY frozen in there and if I had of just let the one bolt that broke soak in WD-40 a little longer I wouldn't be writing this... I'm such a squid... :b

Anyway, I'm thinking of switching to some Hex-head bolts. But I was wondering if that's a good idea or not. It would be a lot less likely to strip the centers out... I think the Hex heads won't be so thick at the tops as the allen ones so they will be weaker, unless I can find some bolts the same size... That would be good, but unlikely.

Anyone else have this problem before?

You've got me confused. You said you busted the swingarm bolt so I'm thinking the big bolt that holds the swingarm onto the frame but then you talk about removing a bolt from the bearing carrier? I'm not exactly sure which bolt you broke off?

You need stainless SHCS. Socket Head Cap Screws or as most call them "Allen" head bolts. Just use a washer and you'll be alright. Either that or use Antiseize. (on your bolts not your piston!)

Later!

Thanks, Quadracer Gumby.

The bolt was successfully removed very easily earlier today. I still think I'm gonna try to find some hex heads for it because I just don't like all these allen heads/screws that get the centers stripped way too easily...
