Insulator color on an Eiger?
#1
Did the 100 mile service today and pulled the plug just for grins. The insulator was as white as the day it was built. Granted I just finished a high speed run to see what the top end was. It's mostly broken in now. (BTW: 3% grade, 45 uphill, 56 downhill.)
Anyway, back to the topic. I had to idle it some to get through the gate and into the garage. So I would have expected a darker color than what I got. Can this thing really be running lean at 6500 feet? Kind of worries me!
Thanks

Wolley,
I don't think it's lean if you have the stock main jet. But if the dealer you bought it from rejetted it for your altitude, he may have gone a little too lean.
I've read conflicting things re: reading spark plugs. Some say you can't get a good read anymore because of all of the additives in gas nowadays. Others say you can still read them. I think they can still be read.
