Ok, you guys that own the Z400, how does it compare in the real world to the other sport bikes? I have heard such wide ranging comments on this board. People say it cant beat a 400 ex w/slip on all the way to it can beat a DS with a stage 3 kit. Now I dont think it will beat a DS/stage 3, but it better be able to beat a 400ex. Some of you have had your Z400's long enough that you have raced some people. Post your results..

I don't think anyone here said it would outrun a DS650. I did say however it would run with one thru the first three gears. I did not witness this, but I know both guys VERY well and they both confirmed it.
Also the post about racing the Canniball was they were dead even....

I believe the quote was:
"We did a second gear roll on through the gears to redline and I beat him by about 5 lengths." Of course this was the Cannibal beating the Z400, not the other way around. They then switched quads and then they were dead even. I'll take my Cannibal up against one of these new Z400's in a drag race any day of the week!!

Eh, bring it. I'm not that impressed with it at all. The only plus that it has to offer is it's the first decent handling quad with reverse.....

Dont get me wrong!!! Im not in anyway trying to start some sort of "this is better, that is Better" type of thread. I just know that people by now have had some seat time on the Z400. If you own one and raced it (mainly drag, since that is a good indication of power) what did you race against and what were the results? Im not looking for a "well I heard this or that." Basically if you have either raced on a Z400 or raced against one, respond. All others, respond if you like, but Im not looking for second hand info...

I was just told my story was BS in my other topic. I like how people tell me things when they haven't even sat on one....

Okay, Roostking, you want anecdotes? Saturday night my daughter and I raced MX. In both our classes, there was a well-developed (not super-radical, but thoughtfully done over two seasons) 400EX. Also in my class was a 250R. In both her heats she was dead-even with the 400 at the first turn (through the middle of 3d gear), and in the heat I got a good start in, I was even with both of the quads. I'm not saying the Z400 is as fast as a 250R or a well-built 400EX; I'm supplying what you asked for, input on a quad that's been available for one week (except, apparently, in Utah ;-)).
