Problems with my z400

well i just got my bike last night and im already experiencing problems. When i go into reverse it starts stutering..? does anyone else have this problem occur or know what the deal is? any info will be greatly appreciated..

i think theres a rev limiter in reverse

nope its not the rev limiter because when i first started riding it didnt do this

I still think its your rev limiter. I thought it was a problem with my Z too. At first you don't use much throttle for reverse because your not used to it yet. Once you ride more and get used to it you use more throttle and you discover the rev limiter. This never happens in the forward gears but only happens in reverse so what else could it be but a rev limiter. Thats what I think anyways. Lets get some more Z owners opinions here.

Mine did that too, but then I just realized that it didn't take as much throttle as I was giving it. I had just gone through a ton of muck and mud too, but now am pretty sure it was just my trigger happy thumb.

the rev limiter is sensitive in this quad for a good reason. your supposed to just barely touch the throttle and slowly engage the clutch. they don't want you go too fast while going backwards.

Correct, there is DEFINATLY a rev limited in reverse.

How much would it SUCK if the rev limiter reverse-switch got stuck and it got jammed it on.....
