I was deciding on the DS or the Raptor but now this 400 is making me wonder? Is it extreamly close? Does it have the pull your arms off speed of the raptor in all gears? does it handel that mutch better?

 

Handles better than the 400ex and is just as fast as the raptor. At most a length behind.Way way better on a track

 

I OWN a LTZ- and will say I really don't think the suzuki is faster than a raptor- but it SEEMS close enough to be a good race. It just depends on whether you want to spend that extra grand on a quad thats a tad faster in a straight line, slower on a track, handles worse, etc. Mostly comes down to rider skill anyhow, so if you like the raptor more- get one, you'll be happy with either choice.

 

I can't speak for the LTZ400, but I own a Raptor660 & it's an awesome quad by all means. Both are capable machines in all aspects. The only thing about each machine that's seems to be a big difference is the price. The LTZ400 is $5700.00 or so, and the Raptor is $5700.00. I paid $6199 OTD for my 02 Raptor & got $300 in free accessories a month after the 02's came out.

I doubt it. I have one as does my girl. But it's a four hundred. I wish people would stop compairing their drag racing abilities personally. That is only one single aspect of a varied total experience. If I remember correctly, dirtwheels mag is going to do a shootout on all the new 03's. This should help as there will be an UNBIASED side by side comparison of all the new sport quads. I am sure they'll do drags, I'm sure they'll mx, and I'm sure that they will do trails. However, there will not be a single winner, oh no. They are all excellent machines, all in their own respects. Yeah, the Z400 is close to the raptor in it's speed, but it can't take one if both riders are of equal ability. It's just real hard to get past the whole extra 260cc's of power. But for a non-fuel injected 400, this bad boy rips. Oh yeah, by the way, I totally respect all the machines out there because each one is able to make different people happy. My philosophy has always been, and always will be that the perfect bike for you is the one that makes you happy. I could care less if people don't really like my Z. They aren't the ones making the payment or getting the enjoyment out of them. Try and remember that guys/gals when people start dissin your machine. It shouldn't be the fact that they are giving you crap about your machine, the fact is, is that they are giving you crap; period. I love my slower than a raptor bike. But I will say one thing, I'll bet when they are compaired on a mx track, it will smoke the raptor and the ex, although I don't think it will take the Cannondale for it's quite a machine and comes with sweet shocks already. Won't know till I see the issue though.
