Z400 Action shots

One other thing to remember about jumping is to apply the throttle just before impact and to continue on the throttle until the suspension has rebound. This action pushes the quad upon landing instead of just falling. I do agree with you though. The stock suspension does not hold up to guys who jump aggresively. TCS just completed my long travel, zero preload suspension and I can't wait to try it out. Now I just need to have my Timmy Boy Designs a-arms built- +3,+1.

I guess the easiest way to explain a higher speed landing being softer is your not coming straight down and going THUD! You get to ROLL OFF the impact gradually instead of all at once. The same is true on a double or table jump. If you use the back side to roll of the first part of your landing, you can go BIG and come down soft{gradually soaking up the impact} It's softer and faster to kind of endo down the landing because the front and rear suspension work together and with the front down you can be on the gas right away to keep pulling away. Flat groung landings are a bit different, You want to touch down rear first {of course}with front just right after before the rear could or would bottom out. Remember if your quad isn't flying straight, you can flick it around instead of riding it out. Gas it when you land to straighten you out and keep your momentum moving forward not to the side where it might have drifted and freaked you out. If you are endoing{nose first} gas it to bring the rear down faster,It works! If your nose is too high apply rear brake{with clutch in of course} to bring the front down without stalling. Happy flying!
