Can anyone give me directions to the park at Chadwick? I am about two hours away but don't know what it is like or how to get there. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Well from where you are coming down from you need to head up Interstate 44 once you hit it and then go to Interstate 65 just past Springfield. Head south down 65 until you get to Ozark Missouri. Go past the main exit where Wal-Mart and all of the gas stations and eating joints are at until you hit the second exit at the top of the hill on the other side of the Finley River. Head east on that one and I think it is called F highway until it gets into town then it turns into Highway 14 at the 4 way stop. Stay on 14 until you hit a small town called Sparta. On the far side of Sparta there is a fork in the road, take the right fork which is highway 125 the first town you hit will be Oldfield. The Oldfield Outpost on the left is a small convience store that sells the permits for Chadwick. There is also a store called Kay's in the town of Chadwick a few miles down the road from Oldfield that also sells permits. Once you get your permit head back down Hwy. 125 past Chadwick about 4 miles until you get to H highway. Turn right on H and proceed until you see Chadwick use area signs. I usually go down to the second parking area. You have to drive past the campground unless you are camping to the day use area.
