Suzuki has paid off another!!

Z400man, you state the Z400 is the lightest sport quad, don't think so!! Dry weight on the Cannibal is only 350 pounds!! Cannondale to my knowledge is the only company that specs their quads weight in "wet" form. Best power to weight ratio by a long shot of any production sport quad. Power to weight ratio is the single most important aspect one should consider when purchasing a bike or quad when it comes to it's performance.

The dry weight of the Cannibal and the Blaze are both 375 pounds. The Z400 weighs 372 dry. So yes the Z is the lightest. And those figures come directly from the Cannondale website. And I agree the Cannondale still has the best power to weight ratio and is the fastest in stock trim but how much aftermarket stuff is available for the Cannondale engine compared to the Jap quads. Did anyone see Motoworld last night? Did you see the new Yamaha WR450 bike. There is your new quad from Yammy. A 450 version of the Raptor. There is a 450 kit for the Suzuki already out there, a crf450 Honda engine already exists and now there is a 450 Yamaha engine available. I look to see the class rules raised from 440cc to 450 this year. And I know from following the bikes wars in GNCC that the DRZ400 with the 450 kit is very, very competitive with the YZ426 bike. I think generation thumper is going to take another 8 to 10 hp jump by fall. Oh and from what I understand the Arctic Cat Quad has a 376cc engine and in the pic the side of the engine looks different than the side of my Z.

I don't have my quad here at work or anything, but that Artic Cat concept looks identical.. Even the case, from what I can see, looks like the Z400...
Heck, I hope honda makes a "trx 400Z" lol, That way honda fans would have a quad with power, and I'd would be able to get my parts at my local Honda dealer, instead of driving 30 minutes!

Yeah...its all about power to weight ratio.
I was just thinking...doesnt the Z have better power to weight than the Raptor???...lets see
Suzuki..lets say 33.3rwhp (arguably), weight...370 website...comes to .09
Raptor..lets say 35.5rwhp (arguably, weight...398 website...comes to .0891
Wow...I bet suzuki did just exactly that...designed it with raptor power and 400 ex topping handling...the ultimate machine for the price.

I will say again, the Cannibal's dry weight is 350 pounds, that's the only thing DW's got right in their article. Read the article, they weighed all 3 quads, the Cannibal weighed 350 pounds, the Z400 weighed 372 and the 400EX weighed 375. The Cannondale web site's weights are in "wet" form as I stated!!! Get your facts straight!!
