<< Yeah...its all about power to weight ratio.

I was just thinking...doesnt the Z have better power to weight than the Raptor???...lets see

Suzuki..lets say 33.3rwhp (arguably), weight...370 website...comes to .09
Raptor..lets say 35.5rwhp (arguably, weight...398 website...comes to .0891

Wow...I bet suzuki did just exactly that...designed it with raptor power and 400 ex topping handling...the ultimate machine for the price.

Briansgi- http://www.cannondale.com/motorsport...bal_model.html

Why would cannondale do such a thing as to add on 25 pounds to the actual dry weight???

OK boys, let's dust this thing off once again so you can see where your quad stacks up. As you can see, the entry level Cannibal tops the chart on current production BEST power to weight ratio by far.
And if you take into consideration the 375 pounds is in it's wet form,
DW's weight of 350 pounds would indicate it's power to weight ratio
at an even more impressive 0.1085.

1. Suzuki Quadzilla LT500 ---------> 51srwhp / 390lbs = 0.1308 horsepower per pound
2. Cannondale Cannibal -------------> 38srwhp / 375lbs = 0.1013 horsepower per pound
3. Yamaha Banshee ------------------> 37srwhp / 386lbs = 0.0959 horsepower per pound
4. Suzuki QuadRacer 250R --------> 31srwhp / 327lbs = 0.0948 horsepower per pound
5. Kawasaki Tecate 4 ----------------> 33srwhp / 339lbs = 0.0944 horsepower per pound
6. Honda 250R --------------------------> 31srwhp / 329lbs = 0.0942 horsepower per pound
7. Bombardier DS650 ----------------> 42srwhp / 465lbs = 0.0903 horsepower per pound
8. Yamaha Raptor 660R -------------> 35srwhp / 399lbs = 0.0877 horsepower per pound
9. Suzuki Z400 / Kawasaki X400 -> 32srwhp / 370lbs = 0.0865 horsepower per pound
10. Honda 400EX -----------------------> 29srwhp / 374lbs = 0.0775 horsepower per pound
11. Polaris Sport 400 ------------------> 31srwhp / 481lbs = 0.0644 horsepower per pound
12. Yamaha Blaster --------------------> 19srwhp / 320lbs = 0.0594 horsepower per pound
13. Yamaha Warrior -------------------> 22srwhp / 397lbs = 0.0554 horsepower per pound
14. Polaris Scrambler 500 2WD ---> 29srwhp / 525lbs = 0.0552 horsepower per pound
15. Honda 300EX -----------------------> 17srwhp / 377lbs = 0.0451 horsepower per pound
16. Kawasaki Mojave -----------------> 17srwhp / 379lbs = 0.0449 horsepower per pound
17. Honda 250X -------------------------> 15srwhp / 351lbs = 0.0427 horsepower per pound
18. Honda 250EX -----------------------> 13srwhp / 349lbs = 0.0372 horsepower per pound
19. Suzuki QuadSport 230 ----------> 11srwhp / 309lbs = 0.0356 horsepower per pound
20. Wal-Mart PowerWheels ---------> 0.5srwhp / 50lbs = 0.0100 horsepower per pound

I don't care what Dirt Wheels say's the dry weight of the Cannibal is 375. In case you haven't read the latest issue of DW they also said the Z400 beat the Cannibal in a MX shootout to. I suppose you think that is gospel also. Magazines print what they get paid to print and DW is no different than Camaro craft or any of the others. They also mis-represented the true weight of the Raptor when it first came on the scene. Competition weight of the other Cannons is 375 but the dry weight of the Canibal is 375. And power to weight and horsepower mean nothing if the rider doesn't know what to do with. I see the same thing in the car world. People want to race dyno numbers instead of actual cars. Yeah OK whatever. What kind of 60 foot does your dyno turn on slicks versus street tires. I have nothing against the Cannondales and after they are out for a while and get their problems straightened out I may buy one myself. Cannon seeded the last Loretta Lynn race with Cannon's and filled the win list with figures but they didn't fill the number 1 slot. That was still Honda's poor little no power machines.

Actually, K&K, Sparks, and all those racers seem to win most of the races. Getting higher in the classes, you'll be lucky to find any actual Honda parts. I"m gonna fill my Cannibal up with gas and take it down to the local feed store and weigh it. I have seen to many different #'s that I seriously had no idea if the Z was lighter or not (in other words, I wasn't being sarcastic when I asked). A 25 lbs difference is kind of big.

<< Power to weight ratio is the single most important aspect one should consider when purchasing a bike or quad when it comes to it's performance. >>

Exactly, only there aren't enough LT500's left for everyone!
