Just ordered my HMF slip on for the Z400

yeah the first time i called them they quoted me 229 but i thought that was wrong since all of there pipe are 169 to 189. when i called them again the next day they told me 189. they are a great pipe for the money. they a low end to midrange pipe, like the dyno #'s they told me. seems everyone that has one for a 400ex likes it. i do hear they are a little loud but they sound good. one of the only drawbacks is they offer a quiet core insert but you cant use that and the spark arrestor at the same time . kinda screws it for us in oregon who sometimes need quiet but have to have a spark arrestor

I don't know. To tell you the truth I haven't rode it with it in. I heard before that the quiet core & spark arrestor wouldn't fit at the same time. So I just put them in to see. I never rode it like that. HMF told me it would lose about 20% power compared to wide open.
I know with the quiet core in my wifes Big Gun there is NO power gain over stock.
