Epidemic

I was at the dealer yesterday and noticed a z400 sitting in the staging area and asked the service manager what the problem was. They said, of course, "bent axle". I told them that they should expect most of them to come back with this problemto which I recieved a suprised response from the service manager. My question is why even bother taking it back to the dealer? They are just going to put on another stock axle that will bend like the one before it. Just put on a durablue and move on.
Anyway, The service manager also thought it was odd that Suzuki would replace it as a warranty item because he attributed it to "extreme use". He also didn't think Kawasaki would be that generous.

you know, i got the same concern. mine is bent and suzuki will replace it, but they are just going to put the same stock one on. suzuki has to make a huge effort to change this axle. i have a durablue on order becasue of this concern. guess we have to wait for that recall......if it ever happens.

I have never had any personal experience with DuraBlue. I subscribe to a couple of these forums, and all I here about is how they break, and bend. When you try and get a new one, through their "lifetime warranty", they pro-rate you on how long you have owned the axle. It seems that the common dollar amount is $170. Plus, they will only replace it one time at that discounted rate.
I personally own a Lonestar Axcalibar axle. The warranty is spelled out in writing. Break it, and you get a new one, no questions asked. RPM also has this true lifetime warranty.
