Im thinking of getting new tires for my Z soon. I was thinking of getting ITP holeshot XCTs. I was going to stick with the stock tire measurements. Are those good tires for trails and MX? And what would be the best rims to get? Are there any places with really cheap beadlocks? And for rims, should I get 400ex bolt pattern rims, or get ones that match the pattern for the Z? I heard that the bolt pattern is the same for both quads.

Good to know, now I can have a spare setup, since I have a 300EX and a Z.

And I blew the sidewall out of the Dunlops already (6 hours of use )

What is a good replacement, or should I just get another Dunlop??

Thanx,
LOBE

Quadzilla Dan,

Where in MA are you??
I am in Coventry, RI.

Any good spots to ride??

As far as my tire, it is probablly crappy luck
The same day, I got a piece of someones tow strap (must have been in some water I crossed) sucked up into my front sprocket. Good thing it wrapped up tight because it damaged the seal and was leaking oil ou, but the strap slowed the leak. Thank God...

I noticed it when I got home, it lost 3/4 of a qt of oil, but when I unwrapped the tangled tie, the oil was pouring out.

Talk about a crappy day of luck

At least the strap kept the oil in, it could have been a BAD scene.

I live a few miles away from woonsocket RI. There are lots of good riding spots at the pipe and power lines. There are miles and miles of pipe and power lines that me and my dad ride on our two utility quads. At the pipeline there are good places for sport quads to ride at, and I ride my Z400 there.

do you use AIM or AOL? The pipelines and powerlines go into different states, but we ride in MA.

I threw a set of XCT's on the Z this weekend. My impresion is that these are NOT the best tires for this machine. First, the Z doesn't have a lot of low end, so putting on a 22" rear tire (stock is 20&quot effectively raises your gearing and makes it even worse. I would not go with a 22" until making some gearing changes and/or motor mods to get more power.

The fronts are 23" (stock is 22&quot, and there was a lot of "feedback" from the trail because of the large tires. Large tires will also slow your steering down somewhat.

I ride desert, so I need a tire that is really tough. I think I will run Holeshot XC's (22" front and 20&quot rear. These things are indestructible.

I got messed up on the tire sizes. My old mojave had 22in back 23in front, so I thought my Z had 22 rear, 23 front. Yesterday when i was washing it after riding i noticed they were 20 and 22. So i might still consider holeshots, but not the XCTs. A riding buddy of mine has the 22in XCTs and they are good tires, but they look huge! How are beadlocks, and are there any good cheap ones. And is the LoneStar Racing Axcalibar a good replacement for the stock axle?
