Now I know that they are both made from the same strength aluminum. But, the prm rear skid covers the suspension stuff while the pro armor one does not. Is it just cause pro armor wants extra money, or were they able to make a better skid with more clearance or something because of the design? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really needing to get some good skids.

What suspension "stuff" are you talking about? If your talking about the rear shock skid it does. I was just there and have it on my z. Good stuff. Just don't ask me about the prm cuz i've yet to see theirs.

If you haven't found out by friday, I'll let you know how it measures. I'll have the PRM then, in theory.

Good luck, post what you find out

Is there an advantage of installing the full length skid under the frame\motor of the Z? It looks like the frame rales are so close together it would be hard to get any damage?

I guess I am being cheap, that full skid + rear skid = more $ than I have right now!

Rear skid(PRM) and sprocket setup, has cost me over 200 bucks already. I have to prioritize!!!

GTV, I think a full frame skid isn't worth the extra money. All it seems to do in my opinion is collect dirt, mud, and rocks that you need to clean out. I say spend the extra cash on something that will benefit you more like the K&N Air cleaner kit or put the money toward a pipe. Just my .02

So what skid plates are the necessities to get???

What does the Full cover??

Do they have a website so I can see what skids cover what??

Are the A-Arms needed or just added insurance??

Thanx,

I think the front bumper and swing arm skid are the necessities. The a-arm guards are kind of nice but they also collect mud and dirt. The full covers only the frame from the a-arms to the swing arm (but not the a-arms themselves).

Any feedback on a preference between the PRo Armor and the PRM??

It seems the PRM is less expessive:

Swing arm = 89.95
Frame = 84.95
A-Arms = 56.95

So a total would be around $230

VS

Pro Armor:
Swing Arm = $125
Frame = $99
A-Arms = $79

Total = $303

Is it worth the price difference????
What are the pros / cons????
Any other mfg. to look at???

Thanx Again,
LOBE

The Pro Armor swing arm skid is a 2 piece setup where the second piece covers the shock mount. I am not sure about the PRM one that might be why there is such a price difference in the two. You can try DG but when I talked to them they weren't going to have anything for a month or two unless they stepped it up a notch.

PRM swingarm skid is one piece - covers the shock though - I paid $109 in Phx

IMHO - full skid may save your case if you play around rocky stuff - plus you have an oil line to protect as well - I'm sure there are plenty of sticks that would be happy to try to stab it..
