The advantage to installing the full skid, besides the extra protection is you won't get hung up on anything. For example: you just didn't clear the double jump and you landed on the frame{cased it} without the full skid your frame is like throwing out the ANCHOR. You will stick to the ground instead of sliding off it. Just think; ATV stops and you don't. Ouch!! Buy the full skids, they're worth it!

I think the extra money you save now is well worth, not only the peace of mind, but also will save you money in the long run incase the unforseen happens. Just my opinion. I'd rather spend a couple of more dollars now than spend a couple of hundred later.

I have the PRM their site is PRM-ATV.com. $109 to my door, but I rushed the order. $20.00 in shipping. The PRM skid covers the linkage and it is .250 thick on the sides by the rotor and sprocket and .190 in the middle. I think it more than does the job. I don't think there is any clearance issues. If you want any further info just ask. Measurements, pics, etc. I think they also have pics of the other stuff on their web site.

The PRM looks plenty solid, but I have never seen the pro armor. As far as cost goes I could not see buying two plates when the one is good enough. If you want a picture of the prm installed e-mail me and I will send you a pic. Right now thought these are the only 2 companies with skid plates in production. Everyone else is not done theirs yet.

Depending on where and how you ride, every part is essential-
1)A-Arms- protects the tubes from rocks and stumps
2)Frame- protects tubes and engine from rocks, sticks, and casing jumps
3)Swingarm- protects rotor and sprocket from rocks
The new Pro Armor swingarm skid is the strongest I have ever seen. I am going out this weekend to bash the hell out of them and I will be surprised if there is any damage.

I just saw on Rocky Mountain ATV's website that they have DG bumpers and skids for sale with pricing, can anyone confirm this? When I talked with DG they weren't going to have their skids and bumpers done for a while. That might be another cheaper way of protecting your quad.
