Why get rid of the parking brake?
#12
Reasons to get rid of it-I don't believe anyone that says theirs works. Save weight. Billet block-off looks trick. If you don't have it, you won't rely on something that doesn't work. Mainly you can get rid of the clusterf**k that they call a clutch lever.
So, why don't they put it on the front brake lever? You 'Dale boys check your owners manual and see how long you are supposed to trust that hydraulic brake being pulled in. Brakes bleed off remember. Polaris says to only use the parking brake (same set up, pull lever then lock it) for 10-15 minutes at a time. Not quite long enough to get to my riding spot, but I don't know about you.
I always tie my bikes down so the don't fall off (had this happen in the past). If they are tied on good, they shouldn't move. Spend 60 seconds tying it down and don't worry about it being in gear.
Sorry had to vent. My opinions.

Very true. I didn't say I use mine, I just said it would make more sence putting it on the front brake lever. Atleast on the front, it will work for a while as opposed to the ones that are on the clutch... the one on my 300ex worked for about 2 min. and then all of a sudden we are slowing down for a stop light and BAM!!! the Ex slams into the bed of the truck (luckily not hitting the window).
I always just tie mine down because I found that after you have the brake pulled in for a long time, you have to pump the brake lever to get the pressure back into it.
In other words, parking brakes are useless junk. Tie down straps are all you need.
