When I talked to Trinity they told me that you could take off the lid and not have to re-jet, they said that the Zuki was jetted pretty rich and that it would be ok without a re-jet. I have heard people say that they needed to re-jet it after removing the cover. Sounds like you just need to try it to see what is best for you.

I'm @ 5500ft and when I picked up mine at the dealer you could tell it was defintely rich, but the dealer said to try it out and bring it back if I needed a re-jet. I took it back and they jetted me to a 120 main. What a difference! It really hits now, but I would like to run without the airbox lid but I can't because as soon as I remove it and get on the gas it cuts out. Do you think the dealer went too lean? These jets come in increments of .25, so he stepped me down a total of 4 jet sizes.
Any thoughts?

I installed an Hmf slip on and the alba air filter with six 1" holes in the air box lid and put a 152.5 main jet in and after riding today I checked the plug and the electrode insulator was white so now I am going to try a 157.5 and see what happens hopefully I do not have to go much bigger as the 160 is as big a jet that I have right now. Does anybody know were to get the larger jets at as my dealer only had upto the 160.

I tried removing the airbox lid last night and my Z cuts out and refuses to do anything it with it off. The only other thing I've done is I took the end cap off and increased the size of the hole in the baffle. Then I replaced the endcap and spark arrestor. I ride in the national forest and they write tickets around here. I think I'm going to go with the Alba airbox kit with the K&N and the yellow outerwear along with an HMF slip-on that includes the spark arrestor. Hopefully a 157 or 160 jet will work for me.
