I got a 91 lt250r that I raced d-11 harescrambles with. The engine is strong and the suspension is better than the older models, still not as good as the hondas. If your interested in it. I'll let it go along with a ton of extras. I just bought a cannondale speed and have no need for 2 quads.

Have the best of both worlds. Put a 500 motor in the 250 frame- lighter weight, and you can fool lots of people. I have seen this done numerous times. If you plan to do AMA events though you will have to run the open class or leave the 250 in for legal 250 racing. On the '87 500 it is capable of more power because it had a bigger reed block opening. Trinity racing also can o-ring your head to help with head gasket problems.

500 in a 250 chassis. The lower frame tubes have to be spread and the sleeves where the long bolt goes through should be cut and moved to the center of the tube. The rear sproket has to be spaced to line up. Airbox on the 87-90 is easy. 91-2 is a pain(I have a 92 and run a lt500 air inlet with a K&N and no airbox). Foot peg on brake side has to be spaced about 3/4 inch. Brake lever has to be modified. Custom exhaust has to be made or bought. CT has it for 87-90 for $369. ATVRACING1.com has it for $290. That should help.
