They did not make an lt250r in 83 they started making them in 85. They are not the fastest things in the world but they are fun to drive. I have a 91 with an FMF pipe and some other stuff and I raced my friend with an 87 honda 250r basically stock other than a boysen rad valve and K@N filter and he beat me, we raced a couple of times and he beat me both times and he is not a very good drive, I'm a pretty good driver. I was suprised, the honda 250r rips but I still like suzuki.

<< I bought the first LT250R sold in Central NY. I have raced a '85 and '92 LT250R a '89 Banshee and a '87 LT500R I know what I am talking about most of the time but once in a while all of those times I landed on my head catches up with me. >>
You're forgiven about the leaving the '83 out I raced an '89 and '90 LT250R way back when. I could almost always beat the Hondas. Of course this was back when a seat cover was a major modification. None of this replacing the whole quad except the motor case. If I raced competetively these days, I would be bankrupt! I also raced an '89 Banshee once in awhile. First time I raced it was in WI and I saw this maniac clearing this huge double finish line jump. Back then he was mostly known locally but now he's pretty famous...Doug Gust. Got to kind of race against him over the years (kind of=getting anhilitated) and saw him race some others locally like Joe Byrd, Boyd Calvert, and Ian Fitch. Great guy.
