Z400 vs RAPTOR
#32
Freakystone, I have not seen any evidence of either of your points being nearly correct. If you have even rode a Raptor and found it tippy (I'm sure you didn't but are instead quoting magazine articles) it was most likely due to the fact that you were going faster than you're used to. And I also have yet to see Cannondale reliablity issues like you mentioned, they're just plain fast and have all the goodies the rest of us still need to buy for racing. You're weak comparison of a Z400 to a Cannondale is quite humorous, you've obviously never been around a Cannondale or it would never even enter your mind to make such an outlandish statement. It takes a souped up Raptor, Banshee, DS or LT500 to make fun of a Cannondale. You'll find this out if you ever see one on the trail in real life.

A z400 is a 2 level machine.
1st level- raptor,ds650,cannondale
2nd level z400, 400ex
3rd level-blaster,warrior 300ex mojo
That is the way it is and not a bad thing. All quads are fun but put them in the right places. A Z and EX will bore you in the sand if you have been on faster quads etc. I like the Z400, i have ridden one a lot, and it does a few things better than a raptor, but a boring ride.

lvegas I'm with you on this if I rode in a straight line or draged up a hill and never turned the raptor would be the quad to own.
I rode and raced a raptor and compared to a 400ex it is tippy compared to a moto 440 you better not unload it.
On the track I race the raptors were out like flys when they first came out then quickly disapered when the 400ex's smoked them.
I was at a riding spot in the woods and about 6 raptor owners started ragging me saying how slow my POS ex was so I laid $100 down let them lay out a loop and the we all got 4 runs the one with the fastest time walked away w/ the money, the $600 bought me a new set of tires and rims. All they could say was yeah but lets go to LA dunes and see. We went I had a great time yes they smoked my but up the hills I knew they would but I had as much fun as they did.

<< A stock Raptor is a P.O.S!!!!!and my Z is way more fun in the sand then my Raptor but then I dont just ride up & down hills or drag all day >>
Right, you must consider eating sand to be fun. Or maybe you only ride with 300EXs on your cute little imitation Raptor? Don't deny it, Suzuki changed the headlight and color but kept everything else right down to the tires. Then they sucked out about 10 or 15 horsepower and used the money left over to pay for that Dirtwheels article comparing it to the Cannondale and are now reaping the rewards at the dealerships.

14mins what's with this 1st and 2nd etc. classes? The way us pure sport riders see it probably looks like this: 1st{most sporty} Cannon, 400EX, Z400, 300EX, Warrior, Blaster, 250R, and Banshee. 2nd class: Raptor, DS650, Grizzly, Prarie 650, Scrambler and all the other 2nd class handling ATVs I might have left out.
