will a 87 lt250r jug fit on a 86 lt250r trans? if that can be done then witha larger carb i think like a 39mm will that produce enough power to smoke a raptor?

87 started the powervalve the 85/86 didnt, also to run the bigger carb you need the rest of the engine built to match the extra intake or you will just have a big slug.

thats the reason of putting the 87 jug on the 86 motor because of the powervalve. but will the two work together? what esle is needed to make the motor "wake up"? i know a bigger carb is one item any thing else that would help in power gain?

NO. the actuator or trigger for the powervalve is in the bottom end of the '87-92 motors, but not in the '85-86 motors, also the mounting bolt pattern is different... the motors are very different and the cylinders are incompatible.
