LSR Axle Problems
#1
I just got my new LSR axle and had a problem I wanted to notify you guys of. The new axle comes with a new rotor hub. I went to install the rotor and the shoulder on the bolts bottomed out on the top of the hub. I said o.k. and ground some metal off of the bolts and again tried to install the rotor. This time the bolt made it into the recess on the hub, but it bottomed out before it was tight. I thought that maybe I could flip the rotor over, but the bolts need to be recessed into the rotor or they will hit the caliper bracket. So finally I had to grind the shoulder completely off of the bolt and use a die to extend the threads. This worked, but I am left disappointed. What if I didn't have all of these tools to do the job, I would be screwed. If you get an axle look for this problem and have fun.

Most would, but Lonestar's customer service usually leaves you a lonestar. I have heard their axles are good, but the rest of their stuff is garbage. I would look elsewhere for aftermarket parts. My dura-blue axle has taken a pounding and never bent. If my 200+ pounds has not bent it, it ain't gonna bend! The chrome sux though.

Most people would, but I don't have the time. They told me to send in my bolts and rotor and they would make a new piece because they were aware of the problem, but I have a race on the 24th and I can't be waiting.
