300EX shocks for a Q'Sport 230?
#1
My friend and I were looking at his 300EX and my Quadsport 230 and noticed that the front shocks were very similar in size and length. We couldn't get as good a look at the rear shocks, though. I was wondering if anyone knows if stock 300EX shocks ould fit my 230? Front or rear. And if so, could I go buy brand new 300EX shocks cheaper than Works Performance's basic, cheapest shock for my 230? I hate my stock shocks and like his when I ride his 300EX and for the type of riding I do, if they are cheaper, those shocks would be enough for me instead of the maybe more expansive Works shocks. Or it coud be the other way around for price. Any info is appreciated.

i dont know if they will fit but get your tape measure out and check it out. better yet swap one with your buddy and see. it dont take very long to take a front shock off. i would imagine the stock honda shocks cost as much or close to what works shock cost. that is new of course. check out e-bay and some of the atv classifieds on the net for some used ones. lots of people pull the stock ones and put on aftermarket shocks and sell the stock ones to recoup some of their investment in the aftermarket shocks. the quadsport is a fun quad, i had to finally retire mine after the bottom end locked up. i still have most of the quad if you need any parts let me know

Hey man, thanks. I was wondering, how good a condition are your foot pegs in? Mine areso worn out I went off a jump and got crooked in the air ad my left foot slipped off the peg and when the back tire came down it landed right on my foot and then drug it on the ground 10-15 feet. Since I can't shift good with boots on, all I had on was some sneakers. That sure ruined my riding day.

footpegs are in good shape. only thing is the one the shifter goes on i had to do some engineering on it. the shifter go real sloppy and loose so i drilled the hole out to 1/2" and then cut the stud off the footpeg where the shifter goes. i then bought a long 1/2" bolt and cut the threaded part off and welded the non threaded end on the footpeg for the shifter. worked great and took out most of the shifter play. watch them swing arm and axle bearings. the quadsport in known for throwing the chain and breaking the stator plate cover usually caused by the axle bearings going out. a new cover will set you back 100 bucks. been there done that
