Valve Adjustment on the Ozark
#1
I haven't gotten to the dealer yet to order a service manual for the new Ozark. Can anybody post some directions on adjusting the valves on the Ozark 250. I have done it several times on my 400ex, just need to know the details on adjusting the suzuki. Thanks.

I'll help as much as I can. The valve clearances for the ozark are (.001-.003) on the intake, (.003-.005) on the exhaust. The plug that you take out and look into to check for TDC (Top Dead Center) is on the left top side of the engine (below and to the left of the carb) if you are sitting on the bike. It is a black plug (17mm) It sticks out pretty good, you can't really miss it, there is not much else around it other a little wiring. You need to check the clearance on the compression stroke. Since you've done valve clearances on your other bike this should get you most of what you need. I have not been able to get a manual either, they are on back order. My friend is a Yamaha/Suzuki mechanic for a dealership, he got me the clearances.

Thanks for the help. One question. Is there a certain way to rotate the engine to get to top dead center. On the Honda 400 engine, you have to rotate counterclockwise or you will mess up the compression release. Thanks.
