I recently purchased and installed the K&N filter w/max flow adapter in my Z. It runs great. Very smooth sound to the idle, haven't gotten to open it up yet (pulled Hamstring). But, I was looking at K&N's website and I did not see a new part listed for the Z400. Then, I went to the Alba website and looked up Yamaha Warrior parts and the same K&N was pictured.


Is Alba selling some sort of universal K&N and and designed the adapter to make it fit? I mean if it still runs good, I have no probles with it. However, that is kind of false advertising.

 

i was wondering about that also so i went to my local napa and ask them if they had it in there catalog and he didnt so he called k&n and they said they did not make any parts for the z right now but they said there are some parts that are interchagable

yes, that's why you have to have an adaptor. if k&amp;n make a specific filter for it, you wouldn't need an adaptor.
